After years of beach trips, my son suggested a lake vacation might be easier with his infant daughter. I found a cabin on Lake Lure in North Carolina on Airbnb and enjoyed a beautiful weekend.
I suggested we return. Thomas had another suggestion: “Lake James,” he said. “It has clean water out of Pisgah National Forest and half the lake is state park.” The next week, back on Airbnb looking at prospects, I apparently dropped digital breadcrumbs.
Facebook was suddenly alive with ads about a one-day property sale on Lake James. I clicked on one. My cell rang minutes later.
